Building a new water system
In Burundi, clean water is dispensed via local water points: communal taps people walk to in order to fill up large cannisters that they then carry home again. Within families, this task is typically carried out by children, who have to walk for miles, taking up time that could be spent playing, or studying at school.

Funding the construction of a water pump will get clean water to Migoti’s newest washing station, but it will also give them the opportunity, if our goal amount is met, to go further: to build 10 water points within the nearby community, thereby reducing the distance and time spent walking by local children, and the chance of families seeking out unclean water that's closer by.
