Ethiopia

The supposed birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia is an East African country known for its history and souring altitudes, the latter of which makes it the perfect environment for Arabica coffee.

Unlike many coffee-growing countries in Africa, Ethiopia has integrated the consumption of coffee into the daily lives of its population. This is evident in the traditional coffee ceremonies that are carried out daily as friends and family relax and catch up.

Important Information

  • Besides the connecting flight from Uganda to Rwanda, guests will need to book their own flights for this trip, though we will provide information about the flights we are taking so that guests are able to fly with us if they wish.

  • Travellers should be up to date with routine vaccination courses and boosters as recommended in the UK. These vaccinations include for example measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine and diphtheria-tetanus-polio vaccine. A yellow fever vaccine certificate is required to both enter and get a visa for Uganda.

  • A tourist visa must be bought prior in arrival in Ethiopia. You must bring a photocopy of your passport and carry it on you at all times.

  • Insurance is not provided by Omwani, however we would suggest purchasing some cover.

  • Please be aware that this trip will include some physically demanding hikes up and down hills and over rough terrain, so be sure you're up for it and bring good walking boots!

We hope to see you there!
